Peter A. Ripper, President and Founder
Peter has worked in health care since 1975. Peter began his health care career as a Financial Analyst
and Hospital Controller for American Medicorp, Inc. (NYSE). During 1976 and 1977 he served as a
Principal Accountant at UCLA Medical Center, working in the Reimbursement Department.
In 1978 he co-founded his first health care consulting firm (Med-Charge Analysis, Inc.).
Med-Charge specialized in auditing acute care hospital bills to improve the accuracy of the
charge capture process. In 1982 Peter sold Med-Charge to a New York Stock Exchange listed company,
(Omnicare, Inc.) and from 1982 through 1985 he managed the charge capture health care consulting
division of Omnicare. In 1985 Peter formed his second company PARA-HCFS.
PARA specializes in the review of charge masters to improve coding, pricing and charge capture.
PARA also maintains an extensive database of pricing history for every hospital that participates in
Medicare. Peter has solely owned and operated PARA for over 20 years.
Sean C. Lilley, Chief Technology Officer
Sean began his work in health care in 1994 at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center designing research
databases. Sean then joined a group of orthopedic surgeons primarily as a business analyst before
joining PARA in 2000. He now heads up PARA’s information technology group and is responsible for
the technical vision within PARA. This includes leading software development teams, negotiating
hardware acquisitions, tracking service level agreements, establishing technical standards, and
anticipating future technological needs.
Lori Gambrell, Director of Reimbursement
Lori began her career in the health insurance field in 1997 with the Tennessee Rural Health Improvement Association,
an affiliate of the Tennessee Farm Bureau. She received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2001 from
the University of North Alabama. In 2003, Lori joined the Maury Regional Healthcare System as Controller at
Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee. In the coming years, she went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer
for Weeks Medical Center (Lancaster, New Hampshire), Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (Colebrook, New Hampshire) and
Bath Community Hospital (Hot Springs, Virginia). Lori has extensive experience in rural and critical access hospitals
focusing on revenue cycle improvement initiatives. She joined PARA in June 2010 as the Director of Reimbursement,
responsible for all pricing projects and contract management engagements.
